Incorporated into the city of Miami back in 1896, Brickell is a bustling neighborhood with plenty of bars, restaurants, entertainment areas, and plenty of other activities to do. Located at just a 15-minute drive from Miami International Airport and directly south of the historic CBD, Brickell is home to the city’s trade and financial center and is known as the second-largest banking center in the US.

Brickell is named after William Brickell and his wife Mary, who were the co-founders of Miami, and it is one of the first areas developed in Miami. Brickell also happens to be one of the most sought-after places for those looking to spend their vacations in style or invest in residential real estate.

Thanks to the development boom that the neighborhood went through a decade ago, Brickell has seen a slew of new five-star hotels, high-rise condos, and shopping complexes. The neighborhood is also home to very vibrant communities such as Argentinean, Colombian, Cuban, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan residents, which gives the neighborhood a cosmopolitan flair. When it comes to passing the time, Brickell offers residents with high-end shopping at Mary Brickell Village. The city also has some of the finest restaurants, and is the center of Miami’s cultural attractions, having the Wynwood Arts District, Gusman Center for the Performing, and Perez Art Museum at a walking distance. At South Miami Avenue, there are many of the city’s famous landmarks, such as Perricone’s and Tobacco Road.

When it comes to open spaces, you will find plenty at Brickell. These include the Simpson Park Hammock, which is a nature preserve, along with Alice Wainwright Park. Other options include the Southside Park, Allen Morris Brickell Park, Brickell Park, Miami Circle, and Brickell Key Park.

Brickell Avenue offers some of Miami’s finest options for preschool and Montessori programs in the city. Residents can choose from multiple options in schools, such as the Southside Elementary School, Kingsbury Academy, Key Point Academy, Gordon School of Beth David, Lincoln-Marti Community Agency, Ada Merritt K-8 Center, La Prima Casa Montessori, Sts Peter & Paul School, New World School of the Arts, School for Advanced Studies-Wolfson, Law Enforcement Officers Memorial High School, and Lincoln Marti Schools #08. Apart from that, the La Prima Casa Montessori is a well-known daycare and school that accepts children beginning at 6 months, up to elementary.
